Make New Friends, but Keep the Old...

Some of you former GA's may remember that song title. I was only in GA's for a short time. In fact, I was only involved in most extra curricular activities for a short time. Gymnastics, Tap, Jazz, Brownies, and Softball. I stuck with Piano for awhile, but eventually I quit. So basically I quit everything that I tried. What does that say about me? I sure hope Hollyn doesn't get the quitter gene!! That is not the reason for this post though...

Last weekend our friends David and Salee came to visit for the afternoon. We had not seen them in about 3 years. It was fun to catch up and for our kids to meet each other. David is Scott's friend from high school and was in our wedding. I could learn a lot from David and Salee. They have three kids under the age of 4. They are such sweet people, funny, and extremely laid back. They are faithful Christians and overall just great people to hang out with. Pictured below are two of their cuties Rachel and Rebecca. They brought Hollyn an adorable matching dress, hat, and sunglasses. Thank you guys!

This week Hollyn took her second road trip ever! We went to Palestine, TX with my parents. We lived there from about 1981-1988. Praise the Lord my little sweetie did AWESOME!! Not one meltdown the whole time. (Her last road trip she SCREAMED for about an hour and a half.) We had a great time visiting with our "old friends." We have known these people for over 25 years!! It was so neat to meet each other's kids, our "new friends." Pictured below, my childhood best friends: Julie and her precious daughter Brooke, and Leslie and her son Will. (and yes he is the sweet type of baby that slept the whole day!!)

These are the kind of friends that you can truly pick up right where you left off with. It doesn't matter if you haven't talked in months, or sadly even years. We can always find something to talk and laugh about. There is no weirdness or pressure on our friendship. I have sweet memories with these friends, the Lord truly has blessed our friendships.

Our mothers and their grand babies: Melodee (Julie's mom), Linda (Leslie's mom), and my mom
We all three are very close to our mothers. They are amazing moms and did a great job of raising us! Thanks moms!!

Hollyn had such a great time that she was wiped out. Leslie worked her magic and rocked her to sleep! A RARE sight indeed!! Overall, it was a great little trip!

Hey! I have been so bad at keeping up. They blocked blogspot at work...I am devastated! I laughed out loud at the squinty eyed pick. Hollyn is getting so big....they grow up way too fast!
