Happy Late Easter

We had a great Easter weekend! My favorite verse from church was this one:
"I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end He will stand upon the earth!" Job 19:25

This is how we should feel about that verse...

Instead, as I looked around church on Sunday we all looked asleep or something. I don't think we really get what Christ has done for us. Or we have been so trained to sit still and calm in our pew as we sing our little songs. Ok, off my soap box... Speaking of songs, I LOVE "Up from the Grave He Arose." I am not a fan of all hymns, but for some reason I really like that one. I am curious about what songs you sang on Easter Sunday. Please leave a comment telling me your favorite one. My goal is to have 10 comments this post! That is not a lot to ask, for all the entertainment I provide you people! Don't let me down....

Here is the kiddos in our Easter best

We didn't get to take pictures outside, so these will have to do!

Is this a sweet little thing or what??

The Matterns and their official church directory pose...

And this is Uncle Greg holding his neice like a ten pound bass.
In fact, he has always been extremely comfortable holding her.

And I leave you with this....

It is probably best not to ask!
(We missed you Michelle!)

Cute pictures! You all look stunning in your easter outfits!

We had a simple Easter service at our house...no dressing up for us! We had 3 new visitors, and several there who we don't think know the Lord. My favorite song we sang was "The Wonderful Cross" . We had a sweet time of worship together!

I also love "up from the grave He rose!" Love Hollyn's dress--she look like a little china doll!

Is there room on your soap box for me? I have a couple of issues too.....

We went to visit my husband's family church. The song that struck me the most wasn't a hymn but a song the choir sang called "Give Me Some Joy." FUN!!!! The minister of music got down the choir sang it from their hearts and the soloist got after it. I told Tracy when it was over, "if that doesn't make you smile then something is wrong!" Which leads me to join you on your soap box....

My new favorite that we sang this Easter at church is a Hillsong song-- I don't know the title but the chorus is "He is coming back again"... you know the one? Anyway, it's great.

Yes, Easter inspired me to blog :)

Hollyn is beautiful!! She looked so sweet and happy at her party! LOVE the lady bugs!!

Cody and I were listening to "Come ye sinners" as we broke bread for our Easter lunch. It's just such a beautiful song.

Happy birthday to princess Hollyn!!!

I love the pic of Greg holding Hollyn! And Jameson - hilarious! Hollyn is precious as ever!

We went to Southside for church and I didn't get to hear the songs because I was feeding Will during that time. I love a lot of the good old hymns, tho: Great is Thy Faithfulness, There is a Name I Love to Hear, Love Lifted Me, When the Roll, At Calvery, Nothin' But the Blood, etc.

Sadly we didn't sing a song that stuck out to me, but I also enjoy "Up from the grave". I love Hollyn's cute easter basket!!

Whoo-Hoo #10!!!! Because He lives gets me every single Easter!!! Of course I remember you beautiful Jill:-). Your daughter is so cute! I have spent the last 30 minutes reading your blog and I will officially be adding you to my list! I wish I could offer you some wonderful words of wisdom about the whole sleeping thing. Believe me, Mark and I tried everything...to the ridiculous point but our little Ally just WOULD NOT sleep through the night. It was the hardest 15 months of my life!!! And also so very different than her older brother's sleep patterns. We think 2 things finally happened. She walked, and she started eating more and therefore was full and much more tired at night. I will pray for you and your hubby. You absolutely cannot relate unless you have experienced severe sleep-deprevation! I will let you know if I thing of anything else. It is so nice to "see" you again.
