Still Catching Up...

Finishing up August: Hollyn turned 16 months! Right now she is IN LOVE with mowing, trucks, and motorcycles. This is what she does when anyone is mowing outside, she stands at the window mesmerized by it. When she sees a motorcycle or big truck, she yells "duuun, duuun!" (She is making the sound of a motor) It is amazing how vocal she has become in the past month. Her favorite word right now is "Yaba daba daba daba daba daba daba dooooo!" (She gets stuck on the daba!) She can say her name. It sounds like "Holleeeeen." She isn't putting words together yet except for, "No, no Holleeeeen no!" She walks around and says that when she is not supposed to do something, and then she does it anyway! I think she weighs 22 lbs or almost 22 and I just moved her up to a size 4 diaper. Still sleeping HORRIBLY, and very inconsistently! It will get better, it will get better, it will get better! I keep telling myself that. Still crazy, crazy strong willed and now throws all out tantrums. She has started hitting and kicking me also!! Other times she will lay on me and hug and kiss me, or run around the house and squeal with laughter. She has developed a very high pitch scream and a fake laugh when she is happy. One of my good friends described her the best as, "personality plus!"

In August, my Dad celebrated the big 60!! The next day my parents also celebrated 35 years of marriage! We had Jana and Greg come in from out of town to surprise my dad. I still did not have a camera at this point, so all I really got was this family picture. And this strange picture of Jameson, I think he was acting like a pterodactyl for Hollyn (with a pom pom on his head?) Always entertaining...

Hollyn went to her first wedding this summer. My friend, Mary Anne Barrett got married. We actually left Hollyn at home during the wedding then went and got her for the reception. We did this because she has several "fancy" dresses and has not worn any of them. This is my favorite! It is 100% silk and I love color on Hollyn. I got it at the Gymboree after Christmas sale for $14.00!! It was regular $50. I LOVE a bargain like this. Don't you? It literally puts me on a high! Thanks Melissa for sending us this picture!
