8 Months

Anderson is 8 months old!! He is starting to develop a bit more personality this month. One of the funniest things he does right now is make a terrible scrunchy face and whimpers when he does not like something. I got a new vacuum cleaner and it is big, black and red. The first few times he saw it he would shake and cry. Now he just makes this horrible scrunchy face and whines about it. He started making the face when we show him a red shiny cup, or anything that he is unsure of. It is pretty cute and funny.

Since I don't have the latest Dr. stats this month I thought I would compare Hollyn and Anderson at about this age, just for fun.

Hollyn:
Started pulling up right before she turned 7 months
Cut her first tooth at 8 1/2 months
Started saying "Da Da" a little after she turned 8 months
Did not sleep through the night
Went to bed super late
Was a lot happier when she could start pulling up and was more on the go
Enjoyed baby food right from the beginning
Cried when I left her from the very beginning
Cried when she woke for the day or from a nap

Anderson:
Started pulling up on low, low things at 7 1/2 months and can sometimes pull up in the crib at 8 months
Cut his first tooth at 7 1/2 months and another right at 8 months
Started saying "Ma Ma" then "Da Da" at 7 1/2 months. Has within the past week started saying "Ba Ba" when you tell him bye-bye
Will sleep through the night once every few weeks
Goes to bed early and wakes up to nurse very early- sometimes still in middle of night
Sometimes will not eat any baby food
Overall a very happy, laid back baby
Has just started crying when I put him down or leave the room
Will play or talk happily in his bed when he wakes up from a nap or in the morning

I thought Hollyn and Anderson looked a lot alike from birth. At about 4 months they looked very very similar. I still see some similarities but I think this month he is looking a bit different than she did. Their hair is a different color and her eyelashes and brows were more distinct. They both have the same amount of hair at this age and both started getting some curls in the back. It's neat to see how your children can be alike and very different yet have the same two parents. We are blessed to have both of these little munchkins!
