Toddler Bed

Recently, I caught Hollyn trying to climb out of her bed in the middle of the night. So we had to change her crib to a toddler bed. I did NOT want to do this with a 21 month old who DOES NOT SLEEP, but it is the safest option. One of my friends put the situation in perspective when she stated, "It can't make her sleeping habits any worse!" And she was right. Bedtime is still the same and the nights are still the same. Now Hollyn just sits by the door, instead of in her crib, crying for me to come get her . I still come get her and take her to my bed at some point. No helpful hints please. This option allows me the most sleep I can get right now.

Hollyn is quite the manipulator when it comes to going to sleep. The other night she even wanted to read my Bible. So I gave it to her and I kid you not this is what she said, "Holy, Holy, Holy! Jesus lubs me dis I know. Bible tell me so. Yittle one him belong. Weak. Strong. Yeeees, Jesus lubs me....Yeeees, Jesus lubs me...."

It would have been a lot more precious if it wasn't almost MIDNIGHT!!!!!!! By this point she was laying in my bed with me to hopefully speed up this LONG process of getting her to sleep that night. I guess she sensed my frustration because she covered me with her lovie, patted my chest and said, "Calm down mommy. It's ok. Shhhhhhh. Calm down." Then attempted to stick her pacifier in my mouth. Oh, the joys of bedtime.

Know that when you're up in the middle of the night, we might very well be too! Both of our boys get up most nights 1-3 times. Every once in a blue moon, they'll both sleep through the night at the same time. I long for the day when we can go to bed and know that we'll get a full nights sleep! Hollyn looks adorable and so big in her toddler bed!!

I randomly clicked on your link a while back via Autumn Lockett's blog, and I've read you since then...because I totally relate to your sleep woes. My baby is (almost) 8 months old and sounds a whole lot like your sweet girl...and I feel like he's never going to sleep through the night.

Just wanted to let you know that someone out there in the blogosphere feels your pain, and also has big black bags under her eyes. :-)

Your wakeful baby is beautiful.
